In Memory of Bart...

I had him for almost 9 years.  He was a sweet soul.  His tail never stopped wagging and was a true velcro Cocker.  He loved everyone and everyone loved him!!!  He used to whine at the vets office, if he couldn't meet another animal.  I think that his heart took up his abdomen because it was always full of love and sweetness.  I will miss him terribly.

Lucky Olsen

In Memory of Lucky

It is with a heavy heart that I report Lucky has passed away from heart failure.  She died not long after turning 11.

Lucky's Original Happy Ending...

Lucky (formerly Hayley) is now 10 1/2 years and doing great. We adopted her when she was only about 3 months old in June (2004). We found out through genetic testing that Lucky is a perfect 50/50 mix of Pomeranian and Cocker Spaniel. She always gets compliments on how cute she is, and every halloween kids spend a long time petting her. She loves children, especially babies.  You have to watch her because she will not stop licking a baby's face! Her favorite toys are sticks and soft squeaky toys. She is a very spoiled girl and loves attention and going for long walks. She loves to play in the snow and chase rabbits and squirrels. She is in good health aside from a heart condition which is being managed very well by medication. She shows almost no signs of her age and she keeps on loving life and we keep on loving her! She is a staple in the family and we can't imagine ever being without her.

Winston's Happy Ending

Homecoming was a little rough the first day due to Winston's apprehension and fear toward our one year old yellow lab Willie. Willie just loved Winston and wanted to play like crazy however Winston was a little unsure and every time he looked at Willie he growled and showed his teeth. I kept them separated and each day introduced them again and again in small doses and now Winston is no longer showing fear of Willie. They even played yesterday (Winston on a leash) for 20 minutes. I'm confident in due time, Winston and Willie will be the best of friends!

Other than that, I cannot say enough about what a joy Winston is. He is calm, quiet, sweet, and completely house broken! He does have some skin allergies but takes his medication and enjoys his baths! He sleeps every night at the foot of my 11 year old daughter's bed and rides happily in the car to take the kids to and from school.

Winston is a wonderful dog and I'm so happy we have been given the opportunity to give him a loving home.

Annie

In Memory of Annie

I lost a one of a kind dog. I was blessed to have had a black/tan Cocker Spaniel for almost 15 1/2 years. She was originally named Anastasia by her breeder, Heidi Armour, but I renamed her Annie. She was not in the show ring because she had a terrible overbite but she made up for that by being a great competitor in the fly ball community. She was a dependable little height dog for 10 years. This is a dog who never played from the time I got her at 5 months old to the day I let her cross the Rainbow Bridge. That in itself is a miracle. We traveled to different states, she received titles and ribbons and in return got to eat some great treats. She also did nursing home work for 9 years where she loved to wear her many dresses, hats and scarves. She gave great joy wherever she went.  All she wanted in return was to be petted and made a fuss over. She was a productive dog and a great little companion. I will never forget her and what she gave me by being in my life. I will think back to the many memories of her and the joy she brought to my life. She was strong and lived life her way. She never growled her whole life but if you did something that she didn't like she would get even. I could always tell if something ticked her off. Run free like when you were young.

Loretta's Happy Ending

We have now had her for one year. She has been wonderful. Everyone likes Loretta, even folks who are not dog people give in to her. She loves everyone from people to other dogs, but especially likes kids.  Even the groomers like her. She lets them do anything to her and she never complains. 

The neighborhood kids come and ask if she can come out to play. She has been border trained and she will only leave the yard to greet neighbors.

We spent the summer in Virginia Beach and she loves talking walks on the beach and chasing the crabs. She doesn't like to get her feet wet, but will go into the water when chasing the crabs.

When we go for car rides, she sits and looks out the window. She loves to look at people in cars next to us and will respond to people when they talk to her. With her over bite, she looks like she is smiling and folks just love it!

In Memory of Louie

Louie - only 2 years old, came into CSAC with kidney disease.  He lived a full year in a foster home and passed with auto-immune issue that took his life quickly.   Louie was very special and was well loved.  Louie you will be missed, you are at peace now, running with your buddies in heaven.
