Loretta's Happy Ending

We have now had her for one year. She has been wonderful. Everyone likes Loretta, even folks who are not dog people give in to her. She loves everyone from people to other dogs, but especially likes kids.  Even the groomers like her. She lets them do anything to her and she never complains. 

The neighborhood kids come and ask if she can come out to play. She has been border trained and she will only leave the yard to greet neighbors.

We spent the summer in Virginia Beach and she loves talking walks on the beach and chasing the crabs. She doesn't like to get her feet wet, but will go into the water when chasing the crabs.

When we go for car rides, she sits and looks out the window. She loves to look at people in cars next to us and will respond to people when they talk to her. With her over bite, she looks like she is smiling and folks just love it!

Lucky's Happy Ending

Lucky (formerly Hayley) is now 10 1/2 years and doing great. We adopted her when she was only about 3 months old in June (2004). We found out through genetic testing that Lucky is a perfect 50/50 mix of Pomeranian and Cocker Spaniel. She always gets compliments on how cute she is, and every halloween kids spend a long time petting her. She loves children, especially babies.  You have to watch her because she will not stop licking a baby's face! Her favorite toys are sticks and soft squeaky toys. She is a very spoiled girl and loves attention and going for long walks. She loves to play in the snow and chase rabbits and squirrels. She is in good health aside from a heart condition which is being managed very well by medication. She shows almost no signs of her age and she keeps on loving life and we keep on loving her! She is a staple in the family and we can't imagine ever being without her.

In Memory of Louie

Louie - only 2 years old, came into CSAC with kidney disease.  He lived a full year in a foster home and passed with auto-immune issue that took his life quickly.   Louie was very special and was well loved.  Louie you will be missed, you are at peace now, running with your buddies in heaven.

Hamish's (Cody) Happy Ending

Duncan, we adopted in September 2011 when he was 3. He was brought to his Vet to be put down because he had taken to biting as a defense against rough handling. And though we still watch him with strangers, he is an affectionate, smart and happy dog. Hamish (he was Cody), we just adopted this September. We should have renamed him Bullet or Tornado because he is full of energy! He needs plenty of structure and some dedicated training, but he has a confident, loving personality. He loves to fly across the yard and jump over Duncan as if he is a hurdle. I think agility training may be in his future. He loves to cuddle and give kisses. Hamish and Duncan are learning to live together, play together and share their humans very well. I look forward to many year with them both.

Sadie's Happy Ending

Sadie (a.k.a. Abby)  is doing well and busy adjusting to her new life in Shippensburg.  She loves walks in the park and retrieving her favorite ball.  Sadie is a great addition to our family and with lots of treats is learning to be a well mannered puppy. Thanks to the Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center for bringing Sadie into our lives.

Miss Callie's (Jackee) Happy Ending

We brought Jackee home 5 weeks ago tomorrow.  We now call her Miss Callie, and she learned her new name very, very quickly. We love her and couldn't be happier with our new baby girl !!!  In fact, for 4 days we kept calling her Baby Girl, but eventually settled on Miss Callie. She is such a perfect buddy for our dog Max, who is also a CSAC dog that we adopted nearly four years ago. She's very, very sweet.  And when she gets really excited about something, she'll give Max a 'kiss', and me one, too! One of the other really, really cute things about her is that she's becomes very vocal in a squeaky way. In the morning, she's so excited for me to get out of bed and take her outside. She does her yoga-like doggy stretches, and then is squeaking loudly and wiggling all at the same time. The squeak is almost like a squeaker in a dog toy, except higher pitched and more delicate. And then she gets really squeaky when I come in the house or I get ready to take them for a walk.

It's still hard to get a good picture just of her, as she stays so close to Max. Because she's a black dog, it's also very hard to see the expression on her face.

Joey's Happy Ending

Joey has settled in beautifully.  He and our other Cocker, Gizmo, had to get their sleeping arrangements sorted out but by night three, everyone was happy.  He and our Kees/Sheltie mix Mia squabble about whose toy is which but otherwise, they are doing fine also.  One of his favorite spots is the couch in our office - if he goes missing from being in the middle of things, that's where we look for him.  He loves going for walks and is a very well behaved, friendly, little guy.  He's easy to be around and has fit into our schedule very well.  He loves car rides.  We took him to visit our vet this morning.  He did fine.  We have a supply of his thyroid meds and will get him tested again in 6 months.  His ears are doing fine.  We're bathing him for the skin condition and our vet has suggested a few days on an anti fungal medication so we're going to give that a try.  He's just a happy little guy and even itching and scratching doesn't seem to phase him.  We're glad to have him and hope he'll be very happy with us for the rest of his life. Thanks for all you do.  We couldn't be happier with our four legged friends.
