Joey's Happy Ending
Joey has fitted into our family beautifully. He loves to do whatever we're doing and is just the happiest little guy. His tail never stops wagging. He loves to go out in the car, he loves to go for walks, he loves his treats, and he loves his toys. He even loves the cat and would very much like to play with her - a feeling which, unfortunately, is not reciprocated! Whenever we have company he brings them all his toys and he always greets us at the door with a toy in his mouth. He's just the sweetest little guy and we love him dearly. He keeps us safe from the mailman and the school bus. We'd be lost without him. As you can see from the photo, the only thing he doesn't much care for is grooming although if we insist, he'll be pretty patient with us. Our daughter stayed at the house while we were on vacation and fell in love with "Joseph" as she calls him. If he ever goes missing, her house will be the first place we look! Thanks for all you do and for helping us find Joey. Our home is a happier place with him in it!

Lexie's Happy Ending
This is Sophie (aka Lexie) - we adopted her right before Christmas. She had a rough start. She was turned in to CSAC with a broken hip and leg that had gone untreated for weeks. We had just lost our five year old cocker spaniel, Mugsy, after a ten month battle with cancer. So I guess you could say, we both needed each other!!! She is a love!! She is happiest just being next to you chewing a bone (she has a lot!!). We spoil her too much, and well let's just say, the vet has suggested we lay off the treats for a bit (something about needing to lose a pound or two). Thank you to all the people who donated to her care when CSAC took her in!! Thank you to her incredible foster parents, Chris and John who helped her heal!!! She is doing great and we love her!!! The kids think she needs a cocker sister or brother .. So we will see :))

Rhett and Scarlett's Happy Ending
July 2014 we lost our dear Liberty. We said no more dogs, because loosing them was so hard. One day, I started just to "look" at the Cocker Rescue site and I see the pictures of Rhett and Stella (Scarlett). Hoping each day that they would be adopted together, everyday they are still there. I knew we had to adopt them together! We went thru the adoption process and were approved. October 4th we went to "look" at them, but knew we (I) were going to adopt them. They came home with us that day. I can't imagine one without the other and am so glad that we were able to keep them together. They have filled ours hearts again. Thank you to the volunteers and foster parents the took such good care of them.

Walter's Happy Ending
“Seriously, painfully cute” is how one friend described Walter after meeting him. This has become a common reaction. He has the best traits from his gene pool – beautiful black and tan markings from his King Charles Cavalier father and the ears, body shape, and soft hair from his cocker spaniel mom. He has beautiful tan eyebrows, which only add to his expressiveness when he looks up at you while snuggling or when he’s lying on his back.
Walter was rescued from a South Carolina puppy mill by CSAC at 8 weeks. He was then fostered by Dolly and her family, in Maryland. They have a number of dogs and cats of different sizes and breeds with plenty of love for everyone who shares their home. While his temperament plays a part, I believe that belonging to this family of people and pets had much to do with his adaptable, friendly, and social way of being with everyone he encounters. He is empathetic too, howling along whenever an ambulance or fire truck siren comes close to the house.
Walter came home to Vermont in early January to snow on the ground and freezing cold temperatures. He enjoyed eating the snow and gradually began to want to stay outside for longer periods of time. As the seasons progressed, he “helped” me plant flowers in the spring by digging nice deep holes for the plants, and this summer he has gone swimming in Lake Champlain, and he has hiked on a mountain. He spends most days with his best buddy, Berkeley (also adopted from CSAC) who is now an older gentleman. Berkeley tolerates his ceaseless energy in exchange for Walter’s unending adoration and love for his cocker spaniel partner in crime.
He is a good student, having taken puppy class, basic obedience, and several agility classes. He is quick to learn new things and responds well to basic commands, though we’re still working on training when there are exciting distractions such as squirrels, chipmunks, and birds.
As a youngster, he would stare at his reflection in the mirror and give off a low growl…now when he sees his reflection on the front of the dishwasher or in the glass pane of a door, he will paw at it, trying to get it to play. When he’s excited, especially when greeting others, his whole backside wags quickly back and forth. He easily wins people over, even non-dog lovers. He loves to play with his toys and has recently discovered the fun in chasing a tennis ball outside. He instinctively knows to bring the ball back to me; if I’m not paying attention, he’ll pick the ball up again and drop it so it bounces to get my attention!
A love-bug and snuggler extraordinaire, Walter has settled in nicely, clearly understanding that this is his home and his very own fenced-in yard. Walter will soon be one year on October 16th. He shares his birthday with my brother and my niece, a true sign that he was meant to be part of our family.
I couldn’t be more grateful to the CSAC for matching Walter and me and for giving us both a life full of laughter and learning. This seriously, painfully cute creature is easily the love of my life.

Grace's Happy Ending
Grace has been a part of my family for almost a year now and she continues to blossom! Initially, she was a bit shy, not sure of her new surroundings. However, it didn't take her long to show her true spirit. She is a spitfire, hard to believe she is around 10 years old. Her favorite thing to do is look out my floor to ceiling windows and watch for the mailman. Once she spots him, she grabs the toy she has in her picture and runs up and down the stairs. She certainly gets plenty of exercise and has slimmed down to a healthy 25 pounds. Grace is nothing short of a complete joy and she compliments Graham so well. When she was at the shelter, it was thought that she should be an only dog. Obviously, Graham is the perfect companion for her. I love her to pieces and am so blessed she came into my life.

Graham's Happy Ending
Graham has been with me for over two years now and he is the ultimate lap dog. I cannot go anywhere without him next to me and if I sit he's on my lap in a second! Suits me just fine. Snugglers are the best! Graham's hearing is not very good due to his ear ablation surgeries, but I have been teaching him sign language. He is very attentive and learns quickly. Graham is my buddy when we participate in the CSAC parades, and he loves to go on car rides anywhere. He has been nothing but loving to his sister Grace and they are best of friends. Grace is his ears alerting him to anything going on. He can actually hear her barking due to her high pitched tone. Thank you CSAC for letting me adopt him.

Kyle's Happy Ending
We adopted Buddy (aka: Kyle) almost 6 months ago. The cocker spaniel we had before adopting Buddy from CSAC was also rescued from an animal shelter. Well, after losing my husband almost 4 years ago now and then losing our 12 year old dog in Oct. 2014. (4 months before we found Buddy), we just needed a dog really bad. The 1st dog we met from your organization didn't work out and my adult son and I were really disappointed. We really thought we were going back home with a dog that day. Then I saw Buddy's picture and write-up and we just had to be the family that would rescue him. Well, when we went to meet Buddy at the kennel, we did go home with a dog. We went home with Kyle who is now Buddy. We were so happy but knew it was just the beginning. But it turned out to be a HAPPY BEGINNING. Buddy adapted well with us from the start. I needed him to be my "buddy". That's why I decided to name him Buddy. Well, he is my buddy for sure. He is my porch buddy, my couch buddy, my sleeping buddy and my shadow. Wherever I go at home, he goes and I mean everywhere. And if I'm not home, he's constantly following my son.. As for my son, I am shocked because he has never been this close to a dog throughout his entire life. Buddy already has touched our lives and hearts, helped us through bad days and given us so much love and affection. We just love him so much and we know he loves us too by his wagging tail and his awesome greeting at the door when we come home. We have learned his different barks - a mean bark when protecting us and his territory, a bark with his tail wagging and he also has a howling bark. He makes us laugh at his howling bark. It is so cute. We are so thankful to CSAC for the awesome work they do finding homes for dogs and for allowing us to adopt Buddy and give him another beginning in our home. HIS FOREVER HOME.

Sparky's Happy Ending
Sammy, formerly Sparky, has been such a joy to have in my home. Not sure if I saved him or he saved me as when I adopted him, I had just lost another rescue cocker spaniel to cancer. He is very loving and craves petting from any human. He is always wanting to meet other dogs when we encounter them on our walks. The first thing he does when I get home from work and we have greeted each other is he hightails it to my bed and gets all comfy. When he sleeps at night, of course, it is with me!
We are working on our inside manners as he was rescued from a farm where he was just left outside and roamed freely. But he loves to please me so is coming along very nicely. He is really afraid of thunder storms and lightning. When he senses a storm brewing in the distance, he is not a happy camper. He can be quite stubborn at times when he decides that his way is better than mine. As much as he is loving and a cuddler he is also a stinker!
As you can tell by his pictures, I am letting his hair grow. He loves to be groomed and will stand perfectly still while I brush/comb him. He is such a beautiful dog with a loving temperament. He is very good with kids as well as cats, other dogs, adults, anyone he meets. I feel so very lucky to have found Sammy and given the opportunity to adopt him.

Charlie's Happy Ending
Charlie is a wonderful addition to our family. He is feisty but loves to curl up and nap. Charlie also likes to be close to his family. He is very inquisitive and loves to chew on his bones. Charlie has made several new doggy friends in the neighborhood. We are so thankful to the CSAC for looking after Charlie and for letting us adopt him into our family.

Penelope's Happy Ending
We adopted Pippa (formerly Penelope) in December of 2014. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. However, don’t ask Casey and Siena our 12 year old cockers as they may give you a different answer if they could. She has the sweetest temperament! Pippa is snuggly and gives lots of cuddles and kisses and is full of puppy energy. As a family, we feel privileged to have the opportunity to care for Pippa and provide a loving home for her for the rest of her life. We are grateful to CSAC and all they do to rescue these sweet dogs and set them on their way to second chance to a better life. Pippa is our second rescue from CSAC our first rescue was Casey five years ago and he his my lover boy!! Thank you CSAC from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to adopt both Pippa and Casey as we could not imagine our lives without them.

Stan's Happy Ending
Stan, now Andy is doing fantastic! He is a
wonderful part of our family! His older "sister" Missy, definitely
treats him as a little brother. She keeps him in line! Just don't notice
when they're cuddled on the couch side by side for nap times! When
it's time to run outside to see friends, they run along the fence side by
side, or sit in the shade together. As the smaller one, she has to let
him know at times she's the boss! Andy eggs it on. I think he likes the
game! He loves his evening walks. He is positive there is a bunny under every
bush! The great hunter is learning to "let it go"! He loves to chase
bugs and eat them. Fireflies in the evening are more fun than a puppy
can stand! We are working on that. Such a puppy! He loves to chew bones, play pull, and jump! Fetch is ok, but pull is
much more fun! He actually is quite the goat. He loves to chew paper,
and be chased to get it! Although it is a delightful game to him, mom
worries that it isn't such a good game! We love our little boy! He's one adorable addition to our family!

Bella's Happy Ending
I want to thank CSAC for giving me the opportunity to adopt Bella (center of trio) who was an
owner turn in and has truly brought so much love and companionship to us and our
other older Cocker, Kniko (left) and also to our newest addition, Cavi, now Bailey (right) as
you can see in the picture. Thank you CSAC for all you do.
